Web Browser Tip
Safari Web Browser Problem
“I am a long time subscriber of your Brabec Bulletin. I wanted to alert you to a loading problem I experience every time I link to your new blog. I have a MacBook Pro laptop and use Safari, and I get a spinning rainbow pinwheel for the longest time while the site is trying to load. I love your work, and I hope I will be able to enjoy your blog later if it is adjusted.”

Barbara’s Response:
I’m sorry to say to Rose, and any other reader who may be having browser problems, that there is nothing that can be done to further tweak this WordPress blog site to make it view perfectly in every browser being used today. I’m told that all any web designer can do is TRY to design a site that will view correctly in MOST of the current, up-to-date browsers available.
THIS SITE HAS BEEN TESTED in both IE 6 and 7, plus Mozilla/Firefox and Chrome, and it views accurately in all of them. If you are having browser troubles with this or any other website, you need to either update your current browser or download a new one.
Out of curiosity, I searched for “browser complaints Safari” and turned up a discussion list indicating that many other Mac users are experiencing what many now call the “spinning beach ball” problem with this particular browser. (Do a search for those words to turn up a number of posts on this Mac browser problem.) The most practical thing to do is stop using this browser and switch to Mozilla, which is available to both PC and Mac users.
After using IE 6 for way too long, and reluctant to download IE 7 because of all the bad reports I had heard about it, I finally downloaded Mozilla last month. I’m happy to report it was a fast and painless procedure, and I’m now glad to have a browser that works better than Internet Explorer, which has often crashed for no apparent reason.
