Networking on Etsy
A Report from Soapmaker Lori Bartel
I HAVE RECEIVED YOUR Brabec Bulletin newsletter for quite awhile and want to say how happy I am to see you continue writing in this newest website. I also want to thank you for writing your books, which have helped me over and over again more than you will ever know. Ten years ago I began my adventure as a soapmaker and attended my first craft show a little more confident and far more determined to succeed, thanks to Handmade for Profit.
Right now I am selling my handmade soap and art online at Etsy. I have had great luck with Etsy over the years, not only because of the more apparent advantage of setting up an online shop where there is a minimal cost to selling your goods with great traffic, but the community is amazing to say the least. I can honestly say that Etsy is one of the best crafts networking communities to be a part of because we are a community banded together by a love for handmade products.
FIRST THING THIS MORNING, I emailed my crafting networking group about your new site. This group is an Etsy Team* named “The Ace Team.” It was formed around a shared location–all members live in North Carolina. We have put together a team blog mostly for promotional reasons, but you can find it here.
